Fleetwood Town can confirm Northern Ireland duo Jack Doherty and Conor Haughey have been called up to Under-17s side for their UEFA Championship Qualifying Rounds in Italy later this month.

Jack and Conor joined Town's Under-18s in the summer, and have been ever-present in Mark Yeates' side in their opening five/six games this season.

Jack is a box-to-box centre-midfielder, while Conor is a commanding centre-half, and both are familiar with each other due to them playing for their national side for a number of years, so this is just the latest accolade for the Northern Irish pair.

The two will be heading to Northern Ireland on Sunday 22 October where they will meet their teammates before flying from Belfast to Italy, where they will play three matches in seven days starting off with a game against Greece's Under-17s in Cervia on Wednesday 25 October for a 12pm kick-off.

Italy will be next on Saturday 28 October in the Stadio Valentino Mazzola (3pm kick-off) with San Marino being the final game of the qualification stage in Italy on Tuesday 31 October, with another 3pm kick-off scheduled.

The Club would like to wish Jack and Conor all the best on international duty.
